Rita Writes

My last newsletter generated quite a lot of interest and that was in the winter! Spring is now springing so what are you waiting for? Get out there breathe the air, wallow in the wonders of nature, who we must admit is a tad confused. Those of us who trudged through the sludge in January and February were amazed at the greenery burgeoning forth. Don’t rely on the TV to tell you what the weather is like – get out there and experience it. By yourself, with us, it doesn’t matter. The countryside is there for us all and if we don’t use it, we lose it.

As a relative new member of the Golden Amblers I have had my eyes opened to the wonderful places in the area where I live. In my last newsletter I put out a plea for new members who would be willing to use their cars to get us to our starting point. This time I have been asked to remind people to bring their bus passes. In the event that we don’t have enough cars, we are very restricted. We are grateful to Veronica who is able to lead us around Bestwood Park, but there are many interesting places a bus ride away. So, please have your bus passes with you.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Golden Amblers.
